#001 “ Intentions ”
I’ve written and rewritten this entry many times over since the idea for a blog popped into my head in October of last year. I’ve spent so much time trying to find the exact right words to say so I’m perceived as the most perfect version of me but I’ve finally realized my purpose in the world is not to be perfect. My purpose is to live and love, deeply, and fully experience the moments that make life worth it. It feels cosmic that my profession allows me to blend natural human moments with the art of photography to capture these moments for others, so they can remain present with their own loved ones.
For the longest time, though, it felt like clients wanted me to just show up with my camera and push the button. I came across very few who were interested in more than that. For such an innately emotional medium, I was feeling little from my photographs. They were technically-sound, beautiful, and captured an instant but I couldn’t ignore the feeling that said there could be more. My passion began to fade quickly over the next 3 years— I was burnt out, and convinced that no one was interested in the art I so desperately wanted to create for them. It wasn’t until a gorgeous August 2024 flower field wedding where two of my friends said “I do” that the flame was reignited. They encouraged the artist in me to be free and I fell in love with being a photographer all over again. I realized I could bring this energy to my clients on my own. I could be a trustworthy and safe space to encourage their emotions. I could make them feel calm and present with how I conducted my photography service. The results were images that are emotional, artistic, genuine, and fulfilling.
Since then, I’ve been working hard on the details of Venus Queen Photography to create a well rounded photo experience. There’s a lot of options coming soon meant to customize your individual experience— whether that’s a wedding, an event, or a family, maternity, or boudoir session. My intention is to fuse the art of photography with the genuine emotion of connection, wherever it exists. Stay tuned!
